Day 2 @ Aja
“When one becomes completely immersed in art—forgetting one’s own existence—what emerges through them is perhaps something that was waiting to be created through their hands.”
This is exactly what I felt when I saw the many artworks brought to life by Vasanth Rao.
And that’s why he says:
“For me, abstraction is a form of expression that does not represent any specific subject. It suggests the absence of subject and allows for multiple interpretations. My art cannot be adequately explained in words, because it impacts people on a personal level and connects with those parts of our existence that are beyond verbal expression. Therefore, I am convinced that abstract art is an experiential process based on certain formal qualities—such as line, form, colour, texture, pattern, composition, and process. These qualities help describe the appearance of the artwork and how it is created, offering a visual experience.”
When viewers connect their own experiences to these paintings, they might perceive them differently than the artist’s own vision.
Swati Tiwari’s paintings—portraying multiple beautiful forms of feminine energy—perfectly complement Vasanth Rao’s abstract works. It feels as if we are witnessing a dance of the tangible and intangible through their art.
Swati’s artistry, expressed through her harmony of colours, deeply resonates with the viewer. The dedication, passion, and courage with which she brings her art to life reflect her love and intimacy with the creative process.
She says:
“My paintings are visual forms of nature, which, along with the masculine, constitute one of the ultimate truths of existence. I believe that the power of nature or the feminine energy of the universe is a completely divine presence and a source of strength. It is a great current of inspiration and consciousness, along whose banks we live, act, express, and accept the eternal truth—the truth of existence. When this feminine energy is truly awakened, it elevates life to great heights and profound depths of consciousness.”
— Swati Tiwari, Artist, Bengaluru
This unique exhibition of figurative and abstract paintings—rich with vibrant colours and forms—is on display at the Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery until this Sunday. Most importantly, both artists will be present at the gallery each day, and we hope you take this opportunity to engage with them in conversation.
